BarkBell

Health & safety disclaimer

Effective November 2, 2026

BarkBell gives general fitness information, not medical advice. Train at your own risk and check with a doctor first.

Not medical advice

BarkBell is for general fitness and educational information only. It is not medical advice, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, injury or condition.

The app, Milo and the Coach courses do not replace a doctor, registered dietitian, physiotherapist or other qualified professional. Using the app does not create a doctor-patient or any other professional relationship. Never ignore professional advice, or wait to get it, because of something you read in the app.

Check with a professional first

Talk to a doctor before you start any exercise or nutrition programme, and especially if you:

Stop and get help

Stop exercising right away and get medical help if you feel chest pain or pressure, unusual shortness of breath, dizziness, faintness, a racing or irregular heartbeat, sharp or worsening pain, numbness, or anything that feels wrong.

In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) now. Do not use the app for emergencies.

Exercise has risks

All exercise, and lifting weights in particular, carries a risk of injury, and in rare cases serious injury or death. You choose what you do, how much weight you lift and how hard you push. You use the app and do any exercise at your own risk. Use safe equipment, warm up, use a spotter or safety bars for heavy lifts, and train within your limits.

Numbers are estimates

Calories, macros, protein targets, weight-change rates, one-rep maxes, strength ranks, rest times, recovery and step goals in the app are rough estimates made with general formulas. Your body is different, so the real numbers can be quite different. Treat them as a starting point, not a target you must hit.

Heart rate and step counts come from your phone, watch or other sensors through Apple Health or Health Connect. Sensors can be inaccurate or late, and the app cannot check them. Do not rely on them for anything medical or for your safety.

Plans, demos and courses

Teens

You must be at least 13 to use BarkBell. If you are under 18, use the app with a parent's or guardian's permission and check with a doctor first. Plans for under-18s focus on strength and healthy habits and never include weight loss, cutting or calorie targets to lose weight.

Your responsibility

By using BarkBell you agree that you are responsible for your own health and safety, and that, as far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any injury, illness or loss that comes from using the app or following its information. See the Terms of Service for the full terms.
